Job summary

CoorsTek is seeking a skilled CNC Specialist to independently set up, operate, and improve established CNC machining operations that produce precision components. You will advise on tooling, optimize setups, and validate parts to engineering standards.

This role emphasizes strong G-code/M-code knowledge and GD&T proficiency. The position includes a $1,000 sign-on bonus and a focus on quality, process efficiency, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Four years of CNC machining and setup experience.
• Experience operating multi-axis CNC equipment.
• Strong understanding of G-code and M-code fundamentals.
• Blueprint reading and GD&T proficiency.
• Tooling selection and machining fundamentals.
• Strong troubleshooting and process adjustment capability.
• Precision metrology and inspection skills.
• Basic CAM software exposure.

Responsibilities

• Independently set up and operate CNC manufacturing equipment for established production, prototype, or low-volume machining.
• Adjust CNC programs, tooling, and machining parameters to maintain quality and efficiency within process limits.
• Support tooling selection, fixture setup, and execution of machining strategies.
• Perform precision inspections and validate dimensional compliance to drawings and GD&T.
• Support FAI activities, documentation, and updates to standard work.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, and process issues; escalate complex problems.
• Identify setup reductions and throughput improvements in assigned processes.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality and operations to resolve issues and implement solutions.
• Train and support less experienced CNC personnel on setup, operation, inspection, and basic troubleshooting.
