Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking an experienced Machine Shop Supervisor to lead production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will program Mazak CNC lathes, support fixture design, and oversee daily production flow to hit manufacturing targets.

The role requires strong leadership, 5+ years in machining, and a collaborative approach with engineering for tooling and process improvements. This on-site position offers a stable schedule and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of machining and CNC programming experience.
• Proven experience programming and setting up CNC lathes.
• Strong experience operating manual lathes and mills.
• Ability to supervise shop floor operations and lead production teams.
• Experience working with OEMs and tooling suppliers to source and purchase tooling.
• Strong understanding of tooling practices and machining processes.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment including calipers and gauges.
• Ability to troubleshoot production and machining issues efficiently.
• Experience maintaining production schedules and minimizing downtime.
• Ability to collaborate with engineering teams on fixtures, tooling, and process improvements.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Program and set up Mazak CNC lathes for production operators.
• Support fixture design and tooling setup in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Oversee daily production flow and ensure manufacturing targets are met.
• Perform quality inspections to verify finished products meet specifications.
• Optimize machine setups and machining processes for efficiency and productivity.
• Monitor shop safety, cleanliness, and organization standards.
• Coordinate inventory levels for raw materials and finished goods.
• Address machining, tooling, and production issues in real time to reduce downtime.
