Job summary

Montgomery County Community College is seeking a part-time CNC Mill and Lathe instructor to teach our CNC Machinist program at our Pottstown and/or Blue Bell campuses. The role involves guiding students through CNC mill and lathe operations, and applying safety practices in college labs.

Ideal candidates have hands-on CNC experience in production and can read G-code. Prior teaching is preferred, but seasoned professionals may be considered without formal instruction experience.

Qualifications

• Hands-on CNC experience in a production environment.
• Comfort reading and interpreting G-code at the machine.
• Prior instructional experience is desirable but can be waived for experienced professionals.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and teach best practices for safe and effective use of machining equipment and tools.
• Teach theory and practice of machining aligned to NIMS credentials including measurement and safety; CNC mill/lathe operations.
• Demonstrate, conduct, and supervise labs and training on CNC equipment in college labs.
• Cover topics including measurements, print reading, precision tools, tolerances; drilling, internal machining, milling and turning; CNC programming; troubleshooting; SPC.
• Evaluate student performance in the class.
• Partner with industry advisory group to align instruction with industry needs.
• Serve as a reference for students seeking employment with regional employers.
• Collaborate with Workforce Division to plan and implement more machining courses and/or contract training.
• Help maintain machining labs as safe and organized work areas.
