Job summary

The Workforce Development Division at Community College of Philadelphia seeks an experienced adjunct faculty member to teach our Precision Machining CNC program. The instructor will guide students in CNC operation, Haas equipment, and real-world applications toward NIMS Machining Level 1 certification.

Classes are held on weekdays, typically one day per week from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, with potential for additional days or evenings as enrollment requires.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years hands-on Precision Machining experience.
• Experience with HAAS machines and related tooling.
• Trades CNC certifications required.
• Ability to train students for NIMS Machining Level 1.
• Strong communication and inclusive teaching mindset.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in CNC concepts using HAAS machines, reading prints, measuring, and G/M code programming.
• Hands-on setup, operation, and maintenance of HAAS CNC machines.
• Teach drill press, milling machines, and lathes usage.
• Prepare students for NIMS Machining Level 1 certification.
• Develop engaging curriculum and assess student progress.
• Maintain up-to-date safety and CNC technology knowledge.
• Collaborate with Workforce Development staff for successful course delivery.
