Job summary

Eastern Metal Supply, based in Houston, TX, is seeking a Machine Shop Supervisor to lead daily CNC operations, setup, and quality inspection. You will oversee a team, assign work, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role emphasizes safety compliance, training, and performance coaching to maintain productivity and high quality. A hands-on leader with strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of supervisory/management experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
• Strong CNC machining experience, including machine setup and quality inspection.
• Ability to read and use tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily operations of the machine shop to ensure production goals, quality standards, and delivery schedules are achieved.
• Assign work to machine shop employees and monitor productivity throughout the shift.
• Lead, coach, and develop team members while promoting accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Perform CNC machine setups and inspect parts to verify quality and adherence to specifications.
• Monitor production throughout the shift and communicate production updates through end-of-shift reports.
• Ensure employees follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and standard operating procedures.
• Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
• Identify and resolve production issues quickly to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Assist with other duties and special projects as assigned to support business needs.
