Job summary

Amentum seeks a CNC Machine Repair Technician II for the 2nd shift in Lafayette, IN. You will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair CNC machine tools and industrial electrical systems in a hands-on industrial setting.

The role requires at least 2+ years of related experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to work at heights up to 30 feet. Safety protocols, CMMS documentation, and strong problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience maintaining buildings, facilities, or equipment in a commercial/industrial environment.
Ability to work at heights up to 30 feet using scissor lifts or aerial lifts.
Valid driver’s license.
Must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
U.S. Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization.

Responsibilities

Perform troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repairs on CNC machine tools and industrial electrical systems.
Identify and address safety risks and conduct independent equipment evaluations to prevent failures.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including lockout/tag-out procedures and proper PPE usage.
Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics to resolve equipment issues effectively.
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, process, and product-related issues.
Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled in the CMMS and document all work performed.
Provide clear feedback to customers on work orders while maintaining compliance with codes and industry standards.
Suggest improvements to maintenance methods and identify opportunities to enhance equipment performance.
Operate diagnostic tools, hand tools, computers, and test hardware to complete maintenance tasks.
Exhibit flexibility to manage daily priorities and adjust work schedules as needed.
Perform general maintenance tasks and other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
