Job summary

Amentum seeks a CNC Machine Repair Technician II for 1st shift in Durham, NC. The role focuses on intermediate troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and responsive service on facility machine tool equipment in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities include safety enforcement, CMMS-based maintenance, and coordinating with customers on work orders while meeting codes and standards. Overtime and varied shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
• Two years of experience maintaining buildings, facilities, or equipment in a large commercial or industrial environment.
• Must pass pre-employment substance abuse test and be authorized to work in the US.
• Preferred: Associate degree in industrial electrical or related field.
• Experience with 480V 3-phase circuits and motor controls.
• Knowledge of PLC logic, VFDs, and PC-based CMMS.

Responsibilities

• Identify and correct safety-related issues and evaluate equipment performance.
• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical control and operating systems per CMMS.
• Respond to work orders and provide service feedback to customers.
• Troubleshoot electrical components and read schematics/prints.
• Operate diagnostic tools to support energy efficiency improvements.
• Follow safety guidelines including lockout/tag-out and PPE requirements.
• Maintain and repair equipment; assist with process improvements.
