Job summary

Novolex in Cedar Rapids is hiring a Machine Operator for a Monday–Friday shift from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm in a climate-controlled environment. The role involves setting up and operating manual equipment, including mills, drill presses, and grinders, to machine parts to precise specifications.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or GED, with CNC machining training or equivalent experience, and familiarity with precision measurement tools.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2-year A.A.S. Degree – CNC Machining Technology or 3-5 years of CNC Machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
• WorkKeys Certification: National Career Readiness Certificate (Silver or higher), preferred.
• Experience operating manual mills, drill presses, radial drills, hones, and Blanchard grinders, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates a variety of manual equipment that a machinist would use, including: manual vertical mill, drill press, radial drill, hone, and Blanchard grinder.
• Observe machine operations and verify accuracy of work pieces using precision measurement tools.
