Job summary

Novolex in Cedar Rapids is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up and operate Mills, performing milling, drilling, and precision machining to spec. The role runs Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–3:30 pm in a climate-controlled environment.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED, plus an A.A.S. in CNC Machining Technology or 3–5 years of CNC experience; WorkKeys Silver or higher preferred. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision with ongoing training and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2-year A.A.S. Degree – CNC Machining Technology or 3-5 years of CNC Machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
• WorkKeys Certification: National Career Readiness Certificate (Silver Certificate Level or higher) preferred

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates CNC Mills to perform a variety of machining operations including milling, drilling, and machining of work pieces to specifications.
• Assembles cutting tools, secures work piece in place and provides machine with directions according to work piece specifications.
• Observes machine operations and verifies accuracy of machine work pieces by use of a variety of precision tools.
