Job summary

Safe Fleet in Nesconset, NY is seeking a CNC Machine Operator for the 1st shift (Monday–Friday). This role offers hourly pay between $22 and $26 per hour. You will read blueprints, edit G/M code, and perform tool changes and setup while maintaining tight tolerances. Strong measurement skills and safe work habits are essential.

The position requires a High School Diploma and prior machine operation experience is preferred; CNC experience is a plus. Reports to the Machine Shop Production Manager.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Ability to understand G and M code programs and make minor changes as appropriate
• Ability to understand wear offsets and change offsets accordingly
• Ability to change tools in the machine and input tool height measurements
• Ability to do their own prep set ups
• Ability to hold +/- 0.010 tolerance
• Ability to change fixtures and indicate fixture zero
• Ability to practice safe work habits
• Routine maintenance and cleaning of the machine
• Quality inspection of parts produced using micrometers, calipers, gauges and other measuring equipment
• Must be able to pass a basic Math Test (Fractions and reading a tape measure)
• Multi task / Operate Multiple machines
• Follow all company work rules, company policies and procedures
• Maintain a clean and safe work area - this includes cleaning / maintaining equipment and work areas, and performing safety inspections of areas
