Job summary

Premier Aluminum is seeking a CNC Operator for the 2nd shift in Racine, WI. You will operate CNC machines and perform standard machining operations, supporting setups as needed.

The role requires machining fundamentals, print reading, and precision measuring. The 4pm–2am shift with a $1.50/hour premium and a $250 monthly attendance/safety bonus is offered, plus a 90-day review for potential pay increases and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Machining fundamentals, print reading and precision measuring.
• Strong arithmetic skills for shop use.
• Experience with CNC machines preferred.

• Minimum of 6 months machine operation in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC and other machines to perform standard and repetitive operations while ensuring programs and setups are prepared by others.
• Perform drilling, boring, milling, turning and balancing as required.
• Follow detailed process instructions and check tool positions.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and inspect own work.
• Meet production rates while maintaining quality and cleanliness.
• Assist other operators as needed and maintain equipment care.

CNC Operator - 2nd Shift

• Wages: $20 - $24, starting wages based on experience
• Shift Premium: $1.50 per hour worked on the 2nd shift
• Days of Work: Monday - Thursday
• Hours of Work: 4pm - 2am
• Eligible for $250 monthly bonus based on attendance and safety

Primary Functions

Produces machined parts by operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine, performing a standard series of progressive machining operations to close and exacting tolerances. Changes tools and assists with or performs standard set-ups.

Duties and Overall Responsibilities

• Following detailed instructions, operates CNC and other machines to perform standard and repetitive sequences of operations where programs are proved and setups made and maintained by others
• Drilling, boring, milling, turning and balancing, as required
• Working from detailed process instructions
• Using precision measuring instruments or limit gauges to check machine positioning
• Inspecting your own work for quality
• Meeting rate for each part, while maintaining quality
• Maintaining a clean work environment
• Taking responsibility for equipment care and basic maintenance
• Assisting other operators as needed
• Recognizing own capabilities and taking initiative to continually improve
• Performing other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements for this position require continuous standing and intermittent walking, bending, sitting, pushing/pulling and lifting of parts that may at times be in excess of 50 pounds. The CNC Operator should have the physical and mental ability to perform the above necessary job functions while maintaining an exemplary safety record.
