Job summary

Reich Tool & Design is seeking a CNC Lead to join their machine shop specializing in aerospace, defense, medical, and advanced manufacturing work. The role focuses on mentoring machinists, developing CNC programs, and ensuring quality across 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC work, Swiss turning, and Wire EDM.

The ideal candidate has 7–10 years of CNC experience, knowledge of CNC programming software, and familiarity with SolidWorks/CAD-CAM.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of CNC machining experience.
• Knowledge of CNC programming software.
• Progressive knowledge of industry software: SolidWorks and CAD/CAM.
• Knowledge of geometric tolerance and ability to read complex prints.
• Intermediate use of Microsoft software.
• CAD and 3D knowledge preferred.
• Journeyman’s card in CNC and/or tool making a plus.
• Preferred manufacturing experience in the automotive, aerospace and medical industries.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor team members at all skill levels, with a focus on developing both technical capabilities and professional growth.
• Schedule and manage workload of the department.
• Problem-solve to tackle a wide range of machining projects from start to finish, including developing CNC programs for precision and throughput.
• Ensure machining operations meet established quality, safety, and efficiency standards.
• Continuously analyze and refine manufacturing processes to improve cycle times and accuracy.
• Identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions and process improvements.
• Assist in quoting CNC work when necessary.
• Engage in continuous learning on machining tech and leadership practices.
• Participate in cross-department teams to drive ongoing process improvements.
• Serve as liaison between CNC team on 1st & 2nd shifts.
• Provide support to shop supervisors and ensure proper documentation.
