Job summary

Hyson is seeking a CNC Machinist - Lathe Operator to set up and run multiple CNC lathes, including slide head and fixed head machines, to produce parts per print specifications. Qualifications

• 5-7 years related experience.
• Experience with mechanical tools and powered industrial vehicles.
• Working knowledge of CNCs/CNC machines, basic programming and CAM.
• Experience editing and optimizing G-code for efficiency.
• Reading blueprints.
• Ability to read gauges and measuring devices.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Self-motivated and team oriented.
• Adaptable in fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of safety expectations and health compliance.
• Basic math and measurement tools understanding.
• Familiarity with multi-spindle/multi-turret machines is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and operate various CNC machines, multitasking and both sliding head and fixed head lathes.
• Manufacture components to tolerance, maintaining a high standard of work.
• Identify and load correct programs, fixtures, and tooling.
• Prepare machines to run unmanned, either overnight or over the weekend.
• Verify step up through measurement of first-run part and sample workpieces.
• Inspect parts and maintain quality records according to work instructions.
• Maintain equipment and supplies in work areas.
• Inspect tools for wear/breakage and replace as needed.
• Adjust zero shift or references, set tool registers, and offsets.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions as needed and call for repair.
• Notify supervisor of product discrepancies or equipment malfunction.
• Adheres to established company policies and procedures such as safety regulations.
• Wears personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
