Job summary

Martin Sprocket & Gear, Inc. in Abilene, TX invites skilled CNC Machine Operators to join a precision-focused team producing mechanical power transmission components, material handling systems, and custom parts. You’ll set up and operate CNC lathes, read blueprints, and apply GD&T while maintaining safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC lathes and interpreting blueprints.
• Familiarity with GD&T and inspection procedures.
• Ability to document machining procedures accurately.

Responsibilities

• CNC Operation: Set up full production cycle and operate CNC Lathe machines.
• Machine Optimization: Optimize setup times, improve productivity, maintain offsets.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and understand blueprints and route instructions.
• GD&T Application: Apply expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Program Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot programs and make necessary adjustments.
• Inspection Process: Follow in-process part inspection protocols and report non-conformance issues to the Supervisor/Lead.
• Collaborative Communication: Coordinate with superintendents, managers, production control, and quality personnel to resolve quality concerns.
• Safety Compliance: Work safely and consistently wear required PPE throughout the shift.
• Shift Documentation: Record and document issues for a seamless shift transition.
• Preventive Maintenance: Perform daily maintenance checks and document findings.
