Job summary

Martin Sprocket & Gear in Abilene, TX is hiring CNC Machine Operators for the 3rd shift. You will set up and operate CNC lathes, read blueprints, apply GD&T, and troubleshoot programs to maintain quality and throughput.

You’ll collaborate with supervisors and quality staff, maintain documentation, and perform daily maintenance. Expect a safety‑driven, team‑oriented shop with a shift premium on the hourly wage.

Qualifications

• CNC machining experience and blueprint reading.
• Ability to read GD&T and apply it to parts.
• Proficiency with calipers and gauges.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes for turning, drilling, and live tooling.
• Optimize setup times and machine utilization.
• Read blueprints and route instructions.
• Apply GD&T on parts and interpret drawings.
• Troubleshoot programs and adjust when needed.
• Inspect in-process parts and report non-conformances.
• Coordinate with supervisors, production control and quality staff.
• Maintain safety and wear required PPE.
• Document issues for shift handoffs and records.
• Perform daily preventive maintenance.
