Job summary

Responsibilities include loading bar stock, adjusting tooling, and troubleshooting alarms while maintaining a clean, safe work area. Shift options include 1st, 2nd and 3rd, with standard weekday schedules.

Qualifications

• Operate Miyano multi-axis lathes to perform turning, drilling, boring, threading and milling to spec.
• Load bar stock into bar loader and prepare for machining.
• Measure parts with micrometers, calipers, CMM, and gauges to verify specs.
• Maintain AS9100 quality standards and a clean, organized work area.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and communicate findings.

• Prepare and load specified bar stock into bar loader.
• Monitor operations and verify conformance with specifications using precision gauges.
• Adjust offsets and touch off tools as needed to maintain part accuracy.
• Review process routers, drawings, and inspection instructions for job clarity.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of machine or bar feeder alarms.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and equipment readiness for next shift.

Job description

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced CNC Lathe Operator to join our high-tech machining facility. In this role, you will be responsible for operating CNC machines to produce precision components. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the quality of the machined parts, interpreting blueprints, and collaborating with the production team to maintain a smooth workflow. Routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adherence to safety protocols are also key aspects of this position.

Shifts:

1st Shift: 6:45AM - 3:15PM (Monday - Friday)

2nd Shift: 2:45PM - 11:15PM (Monday - Friday)

3rd Shift: 10:45PM - 7:15AM (Sunday - Thursday)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Operate two or more Miyano ABX or BNX machines that perform a series of machining operations such as turning, drilling, boring, threading & milling to specifications
• Prepare and load specified bar stock into bar loader
• Monitor machine operation & verify conformance of work piece to specifications using measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, CMM, OASIS, Keyence, & functional gauges)
• Consistently check parts per inspection instructions; ensure non-conforming parts are controlled per protocols
• Adjust part dimensions by making offsets, change inserts, properly center & touch off tools as needed
• Review and interpret details on process router, scheduling board, part drawings, and inspection instructions.
• Perform basic trouble-shooting of machine & bar feeder alarms
• Adhere to AS9100 quality standards per protocol
• Consistently clean & maintain machines & related equipment to ensure optimal conditions for success
• Examine processes & identify opportunities for continuous improvement. We are all problem solvers at Precision Plus!
• Maintain work area cleanliness and organization
• Communicate daily feedback of notable items to following shift team member at end of shift
