Job summary

Hunting-Energy-Services in Spring, Texas, is seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist 2 for our Subsea Division. The role involves setup, programming and operation of CNC/manual lathes and CNC mills per Hunting procedures and blueprints.

Candidate should supervise training and assist maintenance with daily production. Responsibilities include running equipment, making setups, performing inspections with GD&T, tooling design input, and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong mathematical background.
  • 3 years in a machine shop environment.
  • 5-10 years' experience machining CNC and manual machines.
  • Experience in an Engineer-to-Order or Make-to-Order shop.
  • Ability to read and interpret critical dimensions on engineering blueprints.
  • Experience using the Machinist Handbook.
  • Training on safety, drawings, shop routers or work instructions as needed.
  • Experience using statistical process controls.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC and manual lathes to produce quality parts.
  • Perform machine setup or tool changes.
  • Conduct in-process inspections using gauges and micrometers (GD&T).
  • Assist in tooling design for future jobs.
  • Troubleshoot machines and CNC programs for problems.
  • General maintenance on equipment.
  • Inventory control of machining consumables.
  • Operate cranes and forklifts.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and production standards.
  • Train lower level machinists in primary machine functions.
