Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in Manufacturing/Technical Programming; OR completion of a full apprenticeship program; OR successful completion of suitable company training required.
• At least three (3) years of experience as a fully qualified machinist required.

Responsibilities

• Writes programs on the machine and edits offline.
• Designs and builds basic fixtures for various machining operations.
• Reads blueprints, job travelers, work instructions, and GD&T; ensures processes and operations are correct.
• Sets up production machines following prints and specifications.
• Selects and attaches holding fixtures, jaws, and cutting tools per work instructions.
• Applies mathematics to calculate dimensions and tolerances.
• Identifies malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and corrects errors.
• Inspects and measures completed production units to identify defects.
