Job summary

KLA Industries seeks an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist for our Springfield, MA facility. The role focuses on setting up, operating, and adjusting CNC lathes with 3- to 5-axis capabilities to produce high-quality parts in a direct placement, full-time capacity.

The ideal candidate has 8-10 years in CNC machining, preferably with an aerospace background, and can read blueprints, troubleshoot, and maintain productivity on the shop floor. Shift is 2nd (3 PM–11 PM).

Qualifications

8-10 years of CNC Machining (Lathe) experience in CNC 3 & 4-Axis lathe setup and operation.
Aerospace background is preferred.
Experience with 5-Axis machining and blueprint specifications.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC lathe machines (3, 4, and 5-Axis) according to blueprint specifications.
Make machine adjustments and troubleshoot controllers, machines, and processes.
Select appropriate tools and set feeds and speeds to meet production requirements.
Perform inspections of machined parts using precision hand tools to ensure quality standards.
Work independently with minimal supervision and maintain productivity.
Lift up to 70 lbs. as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including tools, equipment, and machinery.
Monitor inventory and reorder tools as necessary.
