Position Summary
Mill Creek Machining (MCM), a CMT company, is seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist for our Paullina, IA location. The CNC Lathe Machinist is responsible for producing quality parts on CNC lathe machines. • This position works Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. The pay range is $19.00 - $26.00/hr., depending on experience. A weekly attendance bonus of $44.00 will be added when all scheduled hours are worked.
• Our machine shop is 100% climate-controlled.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Verify cycle times on all jobs and report discrepancies to the crew chief, annotating on the traveler.
• Verify/set gauges against standards and ensure correctness per inspection sheet.
• Ensure all safety devices are in place and functioning properly.
• Inspect machine and work area for proper order and operation.
• Operate machinery safely and according to accepted practices.
• Make routine offsets and determine when to change inserts, capable of doing so as needed.
• Change work holding fixtures and tooling as instructed.
• Assist in setup preparation and execution as directed by the machinist or crew chief.
• Perform all duties of a trainee and complete tasks as assigned.

Experience, Qualifications, and Skills

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of related experience or training, or equivalent education and experience.
• Ability to apply basic math concepts.
• Ability to interpret instructions in various formats.
• Capable of producing precision work.
