Job summary

100Hires, Inc. seeks an on-site CNC Laser Systems Field Engineer for the Charlotte/Concord, NC area.

You will diagnose Mitsubishi laser cutting systems at customer sites, perform mechanical and electrical inspections, and drive precise repairs with schematics and test equipment. You’ll travel regionally, provide clear reports, and ensure equipment remains field-ready.

Qualifications

• Hands-on background in machining, manufacturing processes, or industrial equipment.
• Comfort using diagnostic and precision tools: voltmeters/multimeters, calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and more.
• Confidence with Windows-based PCs and service software.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work at heights when required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel extensively Monday–Friday.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and restore Mitsubishi CNC laser machinery to optimal operation.
• Perform mechanical and electrical inspections including dismantling, rebuilding, alignment, and system tuning.
• Provide remote phone support to triage issues when appropriate.
• Explain findings, timelines, and outcomes in clear language to customers.
• Use schematics and diagrams to drive precise repairs and create service reports.
• Maintain tools, test gear, and vehicles; submit expenses promptly.
• Contribute to customer satisfaction and team performance with additional tasks.

CNC Laser Systems Field EngineerDepartment: Laser ServiceLocation: Charlotte/Concord, NC AreaYour day-to-dayOn Monday morning, you head to a regional customer site as the on-site expert for Mitsubishi laser cutting systems. By mid-morning, you’ve reviewed schematics, traced signals, and isolated a fault. After rebuilding an assembly and dialing in final adjustments, you walk the customer through what happened and how you fixed it. Travel is primarily regional, with occasional nationwide or international assignments.
