CNC Horizontal Boring Mill Operator / CNC Machinist (2nd Shift)

Join our team as a CNC Horizontal Boring Mill Operator / CNC Machinist (2nd Shift) at ITS in Akron, OH. This is a full-time, permanent position offering competitive wages between $25.00 and $32.00 per hour, along with excellent benefits.

We are a family-owned machine shop serving the aerospace and defense industries, experiencing continual growth. We seek an experienced CNC Horizontal Boring Mill Operator responsible for producing machined parts by editing, setting up, and operating CNC machines, while maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, and maintaining equipment and supplies.

Principal Responsibilities

• Exhibit proficiency with Horizontal Boring Mill
• Perform drilling, tapping, boring, and milling
• Set up CNC machines by performing edits, installing and adjusting tools, attachments, collets, bushings, stops, and indicating parts with minimal assistance
• Load raw materials, verify settings by measuring
• Maintain equipment through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and reporting issues
• Work safely at all times
• Identify and use proper tools and gauging
• Apply knowledge of geometry and trigonometry to machining
• Understand machining applications for different materials
• Plan proper sequence of operations

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Five years of CNC Horizontal Boring Machine experience
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Follow verbal and written instructions
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication, self-motivation, responsibility, and teamwork
• Ability to lift/maneuver up to 50 lbs regularly
• Pass a Criminal Background Check and a 10 Panel Drug Screen
• U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders only
