Job summary

Chromalloy in Carson City, NV is seeking a CNC Grinding Production Engineer to design fixtures, tooling, and CNC programs for turbine engine components. You will partner with operations, quality, and other engineers to launch new equipment and drive continuous improvement on the shop floor.

The role combines office analysis with hands-on machining on the shop floor and occasional travel. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering (Mechanical/Aerospace preferred) with 2+ years CNC experience.
• Hands-on multi-axis grinding/milling and solid G/M code knowledge.
• 3D CAD/CAM programming experience (Siemens NX preferred).
• Ability to read engineering drawings and manufacturing specs.
• Familiarity with fixturing design and measurement techniques (CMM, laser).

Responsibilities

• Design fixtures, tooling, and CNC programs for grinding turbine engine components.
• Support new equipment installs and production launches at the facility.
• Apply Lean and CI tools to optimize processes and KPIs.
• Own the technical lifecycle from concept to production, including troubleshooting and sustaining improvements.
• Collaborate across engineering, operations, and quality to hit safety, quality, and production targets.
• Write clear technical reports, specs, and procedures; mentor engineers and technicians.
• Split time between the office and the shop floor, with occasional travel.
