Job summary

Morris Group, Inc., the exclusive distributor for Haas CNC machine tools in the Chicago area, is seeking a Field Service Technician dispatched from home to service customer facilities. The role requires strong mechanical and electrical skills with CNC repair background as a plus.

On-boarding includes training in CNC repair and Haas equipment; a company vehicle is provided, and travel gas is paid for by the company. Excellent communication and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability in mechanical/electrical repair or engineering; CNC repair background is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics is required.
• Software experience like Microsoft Office is a plus; use of a laptop and smartphone is required.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to install, repair and maintain machine tool equipment and controls; company vehicle provided and travel gas paid for.
• Use online technical documents, manuals and vendor resources to diagnose machine issues.
• Provide accurate documentation on status of issues, repairs, and installations to office and customer.
• Promote preventive maintenance and offer after-sales technical support and training.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of machine tool products represented by the company.
