Job summary

Phillips Staffing is seeking an experienced Laser Operator for a Spartanburg, SC client in a direct-hire manufacturing role. You will operate CNC Fiber Laser equipment to cut sheet metal to drawings, inspect parts, and maintain tooling and safety standards.

The position emphasizes precision, reliability, and teamwork in a fast-paced shop environment. The role includes training opportunities, routine maintenance, and processing takedown of parts with tight tolerances.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating laser cutting machinery, preferably CNC Fiber Laser equipment.
• Knowledge of metal fabrication techniques and quality inspection processes.
• Ability to accurately use hand tools, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes for material handling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate a CNC Fiber Laser machine to accurately cut sheet metal parts according to drawings and production requirements.
• Perform quality inspections of finished parts to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
• Use measuring tools to verify part dimensions and accuracy.
• Monitor machine operation and adjust to maintain quality and production efficiency.
• Collaborate with team to identify improvements in production processes, quality, and efficiency.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on laser-cutting equipment.
• Report equipment problems to management in a timely manner.
• Follow safety procedures when operating machinery and handling materials.
• Participate in training to develop skills related to laser cutting, machining, tooling, and fabrication.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
