Job summary

Northern Gear and Machining, based in Southeast Wisconsin, is seeking an experienced CNC Manufacturing Engineer/Programmer to optimize programming, improve processes, and implement new fixturing and tooling concepts. Expertise with Mills, Lathes, and Swiss, plus tool/core setup, is required for rapid efficiency gains.

The candidate will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure on-time delivery and quality, with growth opportunities in a family-oriented shop environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years set-up and operate experience in a machining environment.
• Proficient with Master Cam, Inventor, Solid Works, and Win CNC.
• A creative problem solver and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Program CNC machines; Mills, Lathes, Swiss
• Understand and select correct tooling and fixturing for Mills, Lathes and Grinders
• Produce parts within required tolerances and specifications
• Maintain involvement from set-up through 1st piece approval
• Process improvement
• Develop set-up sheets and specifications for set-up
• Assist with troubleshooting of process related issues
• Stay relevant with the latest cutting tool technology and work holding
• Interface with Tool Crib
• First piece approval responsibility
