Job summary

Forgent Power is seeking a Fabrication & Manufacturing Engineer who serves as the critical link between design engineering and the fabrication shop floor. You will audit CAD drawings for design-for-manufacturability and manage CNC files to ensure on-time production.

You will supervise the fabrication floor, optimize scheduling, oversee automated systems, and perform first-piece inspections to validate parts against the master blueprint before the rest of the batch runs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5+ years hands-on experience in a precision sheet metal or electrical switchgear fabrication facility.
• Strong CAD/CAM, GD&T, and fabrication process knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Audit CAD drawings for Design for Manufacturability (DFM) before production begins.
• Create, verify, and deploy CNC machine files and optimize nesting layouts.
• Supervise fabrication floor to keep projects on schedule and under budget.
• Coordinate daily production scheduling and oversee automated systems.
• Perform first-piece inspections and troubleshoot on the shop floor to minimize downtime.
• Develop jig/fixture designs and write clear SOPs for machine setups.
