Job description
Responsibilities:
Responsible for manufacturing engineering and project management to support the introduction of new parts and processes and the optimization of existing processes in cooperation with Engineering and the Quality Department to meet customer demand and expected profit margin
Prepare and start up of product or specification changes as required
Define and recommend purchases of capital equipment
Prepare implementation plans for new part projects and manage accordingly
Approve and/or create new Work Instructions
Create or change routings & BOMs in the ERP system
Analyze technical requirements and specifications; make comparison with internal process capabilities
Make DFM & DFI proposals to drawing changes or specification changes to customer or supplier
Take the lead to resolve quality problems in production when not solved at lower levels through NCR process
Manage, mentor, and coach manufacturing engineers and techs to help them develop their skills and abilities for team effectiveness
Training of operators on important process changes
Training of new Manufacturing Engineers regarding specifications and processes
Prepare investment budget, pay-back analysis, technical negotiations with suppliers
Participate in RFQ (request for quotation) process
Qualifications:
Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Industrial or Technology focused)
10+ years of professional working experience within a machining based environment
Needs to have experience with both milling and turning
