Job summary

MDS Staffing seeks a CNC Cell Lead for large-scale milling and G-code optimization in the Duluth, MN area. This is a 2nd or 3rd shift, direct-hire role offering a competitive hourly rate up to $34, plus profit sharing and a robust benefits package.

You will oversee independent setups on large milling centers, edit G-code, and mentor junior operators. Ideal candidates hold a 2-year technical diploma or associate degree in CNC machining, have deep setup experience on large mills, strong GD&T

Qualifications

• 2-Year Technical Diploma or Associate Degree in CNC Machining or Machine Tool Technology is required.
• Demonstrated depth in independent setups on large milling centers and machining close-tolerance workpieces.
• Proficiency with controller-level G&M code editing and GD&T principles.

Responsibilities

• Execute complete, independent setups on large-scale CNC milling centers and multi-axis machine tools.
• Edit G-code and optimize program paths directly at the controller.
• Interpret engineering prints and apply GD&T standards for optimal operation sequences.
• Perform first-article inspections with precision metrology tools to ensure tolerance compliance.
• Collaborate with design engineers and welding teams to resolve setup roadblocks and improve workflow.
• Provide shop-floor leadership and mentor junior operators on setup techniques and safety.
