Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC is seeking a CNC Cell Lead for large-scale milling and G-code optimization in a 2nd or 3rd shift. The role focuses on independent setups, complex fixture alignments, GD&T execution, and mentoring junior operators in a Duluth, MN area manufacturing environment.

Eligible candidates have a 2-year technical diploma or associate degree in CNC machining, proven depth on large milling centers, and US work authorization.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical diploma or associate degree in CNC machining or machine tool technology.
• Independent setups on large milling centers and machining close-tolerance workpieces.
• Proficiency with controller-level G&M code editing, unproven program optimization, and GD&T.
• Strong diagnostic intuition to adjust cutting parameters and tool wear.
• Stable employment history with growth in technical roles.
• U.S. citizenship or green card holder within commutable distance of Duluth, MN / Superior, WI.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex independent setups on large-scale CNC milling centers.
• Edit G-code and optimize program paths at the controller for high-strength steel components.
• Interpret engineering prints and apply GD&T standards for optimal sequences.
• Conduct first-article inspections using precision metrology tools to ensure tolerances.
• Collaborate with design engineers and welding teams to resolve setup roadblocks.
• Provide shop-floor leadership and mentor junior operators on setup techniques and safe operation.
