Job summary

Advocate Health Care in Downers Grove is seeking a Nurse Aide to support daily patient care under RN supervision. You will assist with bathing, feeding, mobility, and observation, documenting in the EMR and communicating needs to the RN.

Preferred qualifications include GED/HSED or high school diploma and current enrollment in a nursing program; no prior experience required. This is an on-site role with standard hospital duties and patient care responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited or approved nursing program with planned completion in 6+ months.
• Basic computer skills for EMR documentation.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to set priorities.
• Certification Addendum as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, mobility, and use of assistive devices.
• Document vital signs and patient data in the EMR; report observations promptly.
• Perform rounds and communicate patient/family needs to RN.
• Assist with admission, transfer and discharge tasks and ensure patient comfort.
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care testing as directed; maintain competency.
• Stock nursing area and maintain equipment and supplies; clean workspaces.
• Assist with patient positioning and safe transfers; maintain skin integrity.
