Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or nursing student who has completed fundamentals to join the 3 East unit at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital. The role involves a wide range of unit secretary duties to support patient care and unit operations.

Under supervision, you will ensure accurate documentation, coordination of tests and discharges, and effective communication with the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant or current Nursing Student who has completed Fundamentals of Nursing or equivalent med/surgical clinical rotation.
• Staff adheres to all I C.A.R.E. Standards.
• Ability to pass clinical competency, basic math and reading testing.

Responsibilities

• Answer unit phones and take accurate messages for staff.
• Coordinate patient tests, appointments, and consults as directed by physician or RN.
• Maintain and file patient medical records per hospital policies.
• Coordinate discharges, transfers, and admissions; help with bed management.
• Provide back-up coverage for patient transport and assist in other unit operations.
