Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Patient Care Technician / Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) to provide safe, basic patient care including vital signs, ADLs, and specimen collection in our hospital setting in Rockford, IL.

You will document patient information, collaborate with the Patient Care Team for continuity of care, and may supervise other staff as needed. CNA certification and CPR training are required, High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Qualifications

• CNA certification required.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and assist with activities of daily living.
• Record patient information in charts and communicate with the care team.

This is an Hourly position.

• Weekend: $1.75/hour

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Licenses/Certifications: CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant
• Other Licenses/Certifications: CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Experience: Six months experience in a clinical healthcare environment Six months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients
