Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to residents during scheduled work hours in long-term care, providing resident-centered nursing care and assistance with daily activities under the supervision of an RN. Responsibilities include hygiene, vital signs, psychosocial support, transfers, range of motion exercises, meal assistance, and documentation. The NA also helps with housekeeping, laundry, and recreational activities, and may participate in committees as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, not required.
• Minimum age 16; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience preferred.
• Required CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing or in process of obtaining it within four months.
• Annual competency testing and continuing education credits required.
• State-specific certifications and driver’s license requirements may apply.
