Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as a caregiver to residents during scheduled work hours in long-term care, providing resident-centered nursing care and assistance with daily living activities under the supervision of an RN. Responsibilities include bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, recording vital signs, psychosocial support, transfers, range of motion exercises, assisting with meals, and documenting resident interactions. The NA also supports infection control policies and maintains required certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Minimum age 16; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience preferred
• Required CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing or enrollment in a training program within four months
• Annual competency testing and continuing education credits required
• State-specific registration if applicable
• Dependent on responsibilities, may require a valid driver’s license and medical qualification for driving
