Job summary

Good Samaritan in Canistota, SD is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) to provide resident-centered care in a long-term care setting. The role includes assisting with daily living activities, vital signs, meal service, transfers, and supporting the care team under RN supervision.

This full-time daytime position offers a 40-hour work week, a competitive pay range of $18.50 to $25.50 per hour, a $10,000 sign-on bonus, and a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Required CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing, or in process within four months.
• Certification and training provided by the facility.
• Ability to document resident interactions and vital signs accurately.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing department competency testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and mobility.
• Record vital signs and monitor changes in resident condition.
• Assist with meals and dining to create a positive experience.
• Support transfers, positioning, and range of motion exercises.
• Communicate care-related concerns to the charge nurse and document interactions.
• Assist with housekeeping, laundry, and wellness activities as needed.
