Job summary

Adept Nursing & Rehab of North Platte is seeking a Scheduler to organize and maintain master schedules for nursing and support staff across all shifts. The role focuses on reliable coverage and smooth operations in a busy care setting.

You will work to meet CMS guidelines, handle last-minute changes, review PTO requests, and coordinate with teams to keep residents safe and comfortable while promoting a positive, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and update master schedules for nursing and support staff across shifts and units.
• Ensure staffing coverage meets CMS guidelines and facility minimums.

• Process PTO requests, vacations and shift swaps balancing fairness and operations.

Requirements for Scheduler:

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or in the process of becoming certified
• A passion for providing high-quality, person-centered care
• Strong teamwork and communication skills

Responsibilities of Scheduler:

• Build and update master schedules for nursing and support staff across all shifts and units.
• Regulatory & Staffing Compliance: Ensure daily coverage meets federal, state, and facility minimum staffing ratios (such as CMS guidelines requiring 24/7 RN presence and specific hours-per-resident-day care).
• Handle last-minute call-offs, sudden illnesses, or family emergencies by sourcing replacement staff, reallocating internal team members, or coordinating with outside nursing agencies.
• Process and evaluate requests for paid time off (PTO), vacation, shift swaps, and employee availability preferences while balancing fairness and operational needs.
• Promote a positive and supportive atmosphere for residents, their families, and the team.
