Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Resident Assistant/Personal Care Aide to provide quality care and assistance with daily living activities for residents.

You will report incidents, assist with daily living, perform light housekeeping, respond to emergencies, and support residents through move-in and activity planning. We offer 401k, full-time and part-time benefits, training and career laddering, and a commitment to work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed an approved personal care aide program per state regulations.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Organized and able to work well with all levels of staff.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willing to become certified within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Reports incidents involving residents to appropriate individuals (e.g., RN/LPN).
• Assists residents with activities of daily living.
• Performs housekeeping duties in resident areas as directed.
• Responds promptly to all resident calls for assistance or emergencies.
• Maintains confidentiality of resident information.
• Assists in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Assists residents to dining rooms and activities; checks attendance.
• Communicates resident status and upcoming information to staff.
• Provides move-in support and emotional assistance to new residents.
• Other duties as assigned.
