Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) to deliver compassionate, safe basic care to patients. You will take vital signs, assist with daily living activities, collect specimens, and monitor patient conditions as part of a coordinated care team.

Responsibilities include charting, communicating with the care team, and providing consistent supervision as required by department needs. The role emphasizes safety, empathy, and patient-centered support.

Qualifications

• REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant, CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS
• PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED; 6 months experience in a clinical healthcare environment; 6 months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients

• Provide safe basic patient care, including vital signs and activities of daily living
• Record information in patient charts and communicate with the Patient Care Team
• Observe patients for physical or emotional changes and report findings

Expected pay for this position is $18.98 - $22.34/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.
