Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) who provides safe basic care, takes vital signs, and assists patients with daily living activities. You will record information in charts, communicate with the care team, and may supervise patients as needed to ensure continuity of care.

Required: CNA certification and CPR. Preference for a High School Diploma or GED and at least 6 months in clinical healthcare, supporting both physical and psychosocial

Qualifications

• CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant (must be currently certified).
• CPR certification (BLS) from American Heart Association.
• Preferred: High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred: 6 months experience in a clinical healthcare environment.
• Preferred: 6 months experience in assisting patients' physical and psychosocial needs.

Responsibilities

• Takes vital signs and provides basic patient care under supervision.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living.
• Collects specimens and records observations in patient charts.
• Communicates with care team to ensure continuity of care and supervision as needed.

Expected pay for this position is $18.98 - $22.34/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant
• CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED Experience
• 6 months experience in a clinical healthcare environment
• 6 months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients
