Job summary

Catawba Valley Assisted Living in Claremont, NC seeks a part-time personal care aide. Training classes are provided if not currently certified, with NC certification preferred. The role supports residents with daily living, documents care activities, and follows safety procedures.

Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, dressing, meals, mobility, and monitoring for changes in health, while maintaining confidentiality and resident rights. Work location is on-site with rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Must successfully complete training as required by state regulations.
• If not certified, willing to complete training within 6 months of hire.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff and the public.
• Support residents in exercising rights and maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) per care plan.
• Maintain care records and documentation.
• Report observations of changes in resident condition to supervisor.
• Follow safety, infection control, and emergency procedures.
• Provide dining assistance and promote mealtime engagement.
• Support with laundry, housekeeping, and cleanliness.
