Job summary

Right at Home is seeking compassionate Caregivers to help aging adults stay at home. Immediate part-time CNA/PCA positions available, offering flexible scheduling and travel between clients in the Virginia Beach area.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of caregiver experience, the ability to read, write, and understand English, a valid driver’s license, and will pass a background check. Training and development are provided, with competitive pay of $15–$19 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 6 months CNA or 6 months PCA experience preferred.
• 1–3 years caregiver/home health aide experience recommended.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living such as feeding, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
• Provide dementia care and companionship through reading, music, and activities.
• Assist with prescribed exercises, meals, medication reminders, and light housekeeping.

Responsibilities And Duties

Performs personal care activities that assist the client with activities of daily living which include (but are not limited to):

• Feeding
• Dressing/Shaving
• Medication reminders
• Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises
• Preparing special diets
• Dementia care
• Companionship activities such as reading, music, puzzles, etc.
• Dressing, changing, ambulating and repositioning clients
• Performing housekeeping activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning the bathroom
• Preparing meals and snacks according to instructions
• Accompanying client on errands or medical appointments

Qualifications And Skills

• High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred.
• 6-month of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant or 6 months experience as a Personal Care Assistant in healthcare preferred
• 1-3 years of experience as a Caregiver/Home Health Aide in healthcare (in homes or facilities)
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
• Possess a valid driver's license and current automobile insurance preferred
• Pass a background check
• CNA or HHA license is preferred
