Job summary

Banner Estrella Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Certified Patient Care Assistant for Med Surg Float-Hosp operations. The role provides routine patient care, collects data, and supports unit operations across multiple departments including ICU, PCU, and ED.

The ideal candidate has 1 year of acute care CNA experience, BLS, and CNA certification. The position offers full-time day shifts (6:00am–6:30pm) with weekend and holiday rotations and a $3,000 sign-on bonus for eligible CNAs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Current CNA certification in state of practice required for new hires.
• 1 year of acute care nursing assistant experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine patient care to promote comfort and contribute to care plans.
• Collect vital signs, input/output, and other data; document in medical records.
• Report abnormalities and changes in patient condition to licensed staff.
• Assist with procedures and use of equipment under supervision.
• Handle receptionist/clerical duties to support department operations.
• Maintain patient records and ensure charts are updated and filed.
• Assist with supply management and inventory replenishment.
• Transport patients as needed and support unit turnover.
• Operate in a fast-paced environment with focus on customer service.
