The position is part-time, 20 hours per week, with day shifts on weekdays. Required credentials include Washington Nursing Assistant Certification, CPR and First Aid, plus healthcare experience with frail older adults.

Qualifications

• Washington Nursing Assistant Certification License is required at hire.
• CPR and First Aid Certification are required at hire.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting.
• Experience working with frail, cognitively impaired older adults.

Responsibilities

• Assist participants in mobility exercises to promote independence.
• Provide care to maintain participant satisfaction and retention.
• Assist with activities such as walking, transfers, toileting, feeding, showering, and getting to transportation.

Job description

Under the direction of the PCA Coordinator, assists participants in maintaining an environment consistent with their needs. Assists participants in their mobility exercises to help them be more independent for their activities and to maintain their current level of functioning. Provides care in a manner that assures participant satisfaction and retention. Assists participants in such activities as walking, transfers, use of mobility devices, getting to and from rest room, toileting, changing diapers and clothing, feeding, showering, getting in and out of transportation vehicles, socialization at the center.
