Job summary

Henry Ford Health is hiring a Nurse Assistant for the 6W Med Surg Unit on a full-time basis, 36 hours per week. Day shift, 7:00 am to 7:30 pm with alternating weekend schedule.

Under RN supervision, you will perform patient care duties, support admissions/discharges, and contribute to a safe, compassionate care environment. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, CNA preferred, and completion of a Nurse Assistant program.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; CNA preferred.
• Completion of Nurse Assistant program or equivalent training.
• May be enrolled in nursing program with Fundamentals of Nursing completed.
• 1 year NA, PCT, PAT or similar experience helpful.
• Foreign trained RN relocating to the United States may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Maintain effective, professional communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Assist RN with admitting, transferring, and discharging patients.
• Provide personal care tasks: bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, mobility.
• Maintain a clean, safe, therapeutic environment per HFHS standards.
• Document patient care and respond to emergencies; follow confidentiality rules.
• Perform general clerical duties and supply deliveries as needed.
