Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Novi is seeking a Nurse Assistant to support patient care on the Medical Surgical unit. You will assist the RN with admissions, transfers, discharges, and provide personal care to patients during 7pm–7:30am shifts (36 hours/week). This role requires a high school diploma and completion of a Nurse Assistant program, with CNA certification preferred.

Foreign-trained RNs and Medical Assistants may apply. BLS certification is provided during orientation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CNA certification preferred.
• Completion of a Nurse Assistant program.
• Enrollment in a nursing program may be considered.
• Foreign trained RN relocating to the United States without MI RN license.
• Medical Assistant program may be considered.
• At least 1 year of NA/PCT/PAT or similar experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains professional communication with patients, families, and healthcare team.
• Assists RN with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
• Provides personal care: bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, mobility.
• Ensures a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment according to standards.
• Recognizes emergencies and notifies appropriate personnel.
• Documents patient care provided and performs routine clerical duties.
• Transports supplies and makes deliveries to patient rooms and departments.
