Job summary

OSF HealthCare in Peoria, IL is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) for the Surgical ICU. You will provide safe basic care, take vitals, assist with activities of daily living, collect specimens, and monitor patients for changes.

You will document in patient charts and communicate with the care team to ensure continuity of care; duties may include supervising patients as needed. This unit offers a strong learning environment in a high-acuity surgical setting.

Qualifications

• CNA-Certified Nursing Assistant required.
• CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe basic patient care including vital signs and ADLs.
• Record patient information accurately in charts and communicate with the care team.
• Assist with specimen collection and observe patients for changes in condition.

Expected pay for this position is $18.98 - $22.34/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

SHIFT DIFFERENTIALS:

• 3rd Shift: $2.25/hour


• Weekend: $1.75/hour

SIGN-ON BONUS ELIGIBLE!

• $2,000 Sign On Bonus with a 1-year work commitment.

Our patient care experience includes, but is not limited to, unstable traumas, abdominal surgeries, complex vascular care, esophagectomies, septic shock, ARDS, and Stroke patients. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant


• CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED Experience


• Six months experience in a clinical healthcare environment


• Six months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients
