Job summary

OSF HealthCare seeks a Patient Care Technician / CNA to provide safe basic care, take vital signs, assist with daily living activities, and support ongoing patient observation. You will document information in patient charts and coordinate with the care team to ensure continuity of care.

Required CNA certification and CPR/BLS credentials; preferred candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED and up to six months of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant.
• Other Licenses/Certifications: CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS.
• Preferred: High School Diploma or GED.

• Record pertinent information in patient charts and communicate with care teams.
• May supervise patients as needed and support department expectations.

Expected pay for this position is $18.98 - $22.34/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Shift Differentials

• 2nd Shift: $1.75/hour
• Weekend: $1.75/hour

SIGN-ON BONUS ELIGIBLE!

• $1,000 Sign On Bonus with a 1-year work commitment.
• Must be of legal age to sign a contract, which is at least 18 years old, to be eligible for a sign on bonus. Candidates under 18 years old may still be considered for the position but are not eligible for the sign on bonus.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Experience: Six months experience in a clinical healthcare environment Six months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients
