Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a dedicated CNA/Direct Care Giver to assist residents with daily living activities at our Yorktown community in Virginia. This role supports independence, encourages participation in activities, and ensures residents receive compassionate care.

Responsibilities include maintaining care plans, documenting incidents, and assisting with move-in transitions. A current CNA license, strong communication, and the ability to lift and move residents are required.

Qualifications

• Must possess current CNA license from the State in which the community is located and in good standing with the Board of Nursing.
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing.
• Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
• Must be a contributing member of nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor.
• Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times.
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs.
• Must be able to safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living and promote independence.
• Report incidents and document appropriately.
• Perform housekeeping and dining room duties as directed by supervisor.
• Respond promptly to calls for assistance or emergencies.
• Assist with move-in transition and provide emotional support to new residents.
• Communicate resident status and upcoming appointments to appropriate staff and family as directed.
• Follow confidentiality policies regarding resident information.
