Job summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) at Good Samaritan Larimore provides resident-centered care during scheduled shifts in long-term care. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and support the nursing team under RN supervision, while following care plans and infection prevention policies.

You will help with meals, mobility, and psychosocial support, document interactions, and participate in wellness activities.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• CNA certification with State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of start; training provided by facility.
• Annual competency testing and 12 hours continuing education required.
• For applicable states, registered with UAP Registry.
• May be classified as Sanford Category II Driver with driving requirements.

Responsibilities

• The NA provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision.
• Assists with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, mobility, and daily living activities.
• Obtains and records vital signs and supports infection prevention and PPE use.
• Documents resident interactions and communicates updates to charge nurse.
• Provides meals, hydration, and psychosocial support; assists with dining and activities.
